There’s a lot to look forward to this summer for SEECCC members. Our club night visit on Thursday 25 June is to Richard Mason’s superb collection of tractors and vehicles near Swineshead. Richard has kindly offered us use of his large grass field to park our classic cars, and it would be great to gather as many vehicles as possible. He has also arranged for his local mobile fish and chip van to be in attendance, but we need numbers so please contact Stuart Gibbard to confirm if you are coming.
The SEECCC’s annual treasure hunt, organised by Steve Le Sage and Stuart Gibbard, assisted by their better halves, Chris and Sue, will take place on Sunday 5th July. We meet at Mountains Farm Shop near East Heckington (PE20 3QF) no later than 10.30am for brunch in The Bistro. We will be leaving our brunch venue around 12-12.30pm, setting off on a 40-mile route around Kesteven through some of Lincolnshire’s prettiest villages and countryside. The clues, both easy and hard as well as informative and risqué (Stuart’s fault), will test your knowledge and observational skills. A fun way to spend a Sunday. We end our afternoon for a late lunch at the Robin Hood & Little John pub near Aslackby (NG34 0HL), arriving at around 3pm to sit down for 3.30pm. Pre ordering of both the brunch and lunch is necessary (see newsletters for menus and details). Please book your place on the run and send your menu choices to Steve Le Sage no later than Monday 22nd June.
Our members’ summer fun day takes place on Sunday 23 August: garden party, hog roast and classic car drive; tickets £20 head in aid of the club’s charity. Arrive at noon, drive 12.30, food 2.30; please bring your own alcohol! Venue courtesy of Adrian & Caroline Cunnington. Book tickets via Joy Mann (see newsletter for details). Please note: all our events are only open to SEECCC members – perhaps now is a good time to join and enjoy our summer calendar!
